Save the date: Workshop Emission Free Maintenance of Wind Farms (side event Wind Energy Hamburg)

Are you active in the world of wind at sea and do you see the importance of emission-free sailing? Then block the afternoon of 27 September 2018 in your diary. On this day, Center of Maritime Technologies Germany (CMT) and Maritime by Holland are organising a seminar to map the possibilities for emission-free maintenance of wind farms.

The seminar will take place during Wind Energy Hamburg, an event that attracts many international players from the onshore and offshore wind sector.

Achieving the ambitious goals of the EU in the area of sustainable energy requires an increased supply of wind energy. Because there is plenty of room at sea, many new offshore wind farms will be built in the coming years. With the construction of new wind farms, maintenance efforts will also increase sharply. Now maintenance vessels are still sailing on conventional fuels, but their exhaust gasses are not in line with the sustainable generation of energy. That is why the emissions from maintenance vessels must be significantly reduced.

On 27 September, the organisers would like to invite you to think about solutions that reduce emissions from maintenance vessels. Various solutions are reviewed, such as (hybrid) electrical solutions and solutions using hydrogen-fuel cells. In addition, challenges in the area of availability and storage of energy and connectivity are discussed. The seminar can therefore provide an important stimulus for players in the entire chain: from client to system supplier!
